UGA provides mental health resources to students through Headspace app
University of Georgia students have free access to Headspace, a mindfulness app designed to support meditation, better sleep and overall well-being. This resource aims to help reduce anxiety—whether it’s stress from an upcoming exam or homesickness. The app includes guided meditations, sleep sounds and focus exercises.

“The University of Georgia provides students with access to Headspace as part of our commitment to supporting student well-being,” a UGA email statement said. “Initially introduced during the pandemic to ensure continued access to mental health resources, Headspace has remained a valuable tool due to its positive reception and ongoing engagement from students”
Monthly subscriptions typically cost $12.99 per month, but all UGA students have free access to yoga, quick workouts, focus music, breathing exercises, sleep sounds and many more resources, through the app.
Students can download the app and create an account with a UGA email and then watch the introduction video to know more about the guided meditations available to students. The app has resources that UGA students can return to whenever they feel an intense emotion or simply want to reflect on their day.
Students can also search for any specific issue they may be going through to see if Headspace can help them resolve internal or external conflict in a healthy manner.
For example, if a student has experienced a break up they can type in “break up” in the search bar and navigate through podcasts, courses and expert guidance that will give them advice on how to heal or work through their emotions.
UGA students can sign up for their free subscription through the University Health Center or download the Headspace app from a mobile app store.
