Biographical Info
Jen joined the University Health Center in 2018. She previously held the position of Administrative Director at Vanderbilt University’s Student Health Center. Prior to joining UGA, she worked for the State of Tennessee Department of Public Health Immunization Program and at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases. Jen’s research interests include utilization of a geospatial information system for predicting vaccine compliance and factors impacting immunization uptake.

Bill is the Material Services Manager for the University Health Center. He received his MBA from Brenau University in 1996. A Native of Chicago, Ill., he joined the staff in 1992 after serving six years as an officer in the United Sates Navy. Bill became familiar with Athens while stationed as a student at the Navy Supply Corps. Among other duties, he currently is responsible for the Financial Reporting, Purchasing, Auditing, Warehousing and Communication services, and support for the Health Center.

Shannon is the Business Services Manager for the University Health Center. She received her B.S. from the State University of West Georgia in 1999 and became a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) in 2009. Shannon and her husband moved to Oconee County in 2004, and she joined the UHC staff in November of 2007, after working in the private medical sector for 7+ years. Among other duties, she is responsible for managing accounts receivable; oversight of medical billing; serving as a liaison with UGA Human Resources in managing the university student health insurance plan (SHIP); and coordinating UHC managed care in-network insurance operations.

Michelle is the Business Services Assistant Manager for the University Health Center. She received her BS from the Medical College of Georgia in Dental Hygiene in 1983 and previously worked and acquired RDH licenses in Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. In addition, Michelle worked as a faculty member at MCG in Augusta in 1996. Michelle earned a Master of Business Administration from Augusta State University in 1990 and used her expertise in establishing and building a medical specialty practice in the private sector in Athens from 2000-2012. Michelle became part of the UHC family in 2014. Her responsibilities include credentialing and establishing network status with insurance companies, maintaining interactive communication and resolution of complaints with students and parents on billing issues, training new staff within the business services department, and auditing provider coding and documentation for accuracy and appropriateness.
