Best adventure
My experience studying abroad through the UGA at Oxford program will forever be my best adventure.
How did you choose your major?
I was drawn to my Political Science major due to the fact that politics have such a personal impact on communities. Creating equitable communities where individuals are given the resources they need to thrive is something I have become incredibly passionate about. This can begin to be accomplished through empathetic governmental leadership, and with my Political Science major, I hope to one day serve the public in this capacity.
What was the biggest surprise about coming to UGA?
I am from a small, rural town in Southern Maryland, so the sheer amount of people who pass through campus each day initially surprised me.
What is your favorite UGA tradition?
Driving to Iron Horse late at night.
What was the best advice given to you by your parents and/or supporters during your first year?
Everyone’s timeline for growth looks different, so take time to appreciate the progress you have made.
Final words of wisdom for new dawgs?
Do not be afraid to reach out for help! Adjusting to college is something that is incredibly rewarding, but can also be very difficult. Know that you are never alone and that there are students all across campus that are so excited to support you!
