LGBTQIA+ HEALTH

We’re here to serve you.
We understand that members of the LGBTQIA+ community have specific concerns about visiting a healthcare facility. We want to alleviate those stressors and focus on your health and well-being. Our commitment to you is to continue to educate our staff and welcome all patients, inclusive of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
Steps we are taking to be more inclusive
Our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system allows for patients to indicate their sex assigned at birth alongside their current gender during the intake process. Our staff will strive to use your preferred name and/or pronoun during your visit. We offer single stall, gender-neutral lockable restrooms located on all floors of the University Health Center.
For our staff, we incorporate training and education about our LGBTQIA+ population’s experiences and health needs. We are partners with the UGA Pride Center and participate in events on campus to bring awareness to our services and support.
