What is Quality and Performance Excellence?
Clinical and non-clinical continuous improvement using evidence-based data focusing on systems, workflows and processes designed to reflect organization-wide priorities and support student care (total health), staff well-being and operational excellence.
Total Health

Total Health refers to comprehensive physical, mental, and social well-being for all students, providing every individual with an equitable opportunity to achieve the best possible health.

How do we address Total Health?

  1. Screen for health-related social needs.
  2. Connect students to services through internal referrals and/or in response to survey results.
  3. Analyze data and develop action plans.
  4. Implement performance improvement initiatives.
Examples of Previous EL Projects:
  • Diabetes Prevention: Framework Development and Implementation
  • Smoking Cessation: Evidence Review, Policy & Workflow Design
  • PrEP Uptake in Vulnerable Populations: Assessment, Outreach & Program Design
  • Culture & Safety: 2025 Survey Goal Implementation
  • In-Clinic Health Literacy Pilot
  • Diagnostic Safety Assessment Within Clinics

Please complete the application below if you are interested in an internship with the Quality and Performance Excellence (QPE) department. We are an established internship location for the following colleges:

  • College of Public Health
  • College of Family and Consumer Sciences
What to Expect:
  1. Please allow approximately two weeks after submitting your application to receive a response via email.
