UGA hosts BeWellUGA Week featuring pickleball, Krav Maga and more

BeWellUGA Week, scheduled from Sept. 9-14 at the University of Georgia, is designed to foster student well-being through a range of activities and events. Organized by UGA’s Well-being Resources, the week aims to enhance students’ overall health by focusing on the five key dimensions of well-being: purpose, community, physical, social and financial.

The purpose of BeWellUGA Week is to create a supportive environment where students can engage in meaningful conversations and activities that contribute to their personal and academic success, according to promotions for the event. 

Key events include a suicide prevention night with former UGA football player Tra Battle, BeWellUGA Fest, Ramsey Palooza and Krav Maga self-defense classes.

The week’s schedule is:

  • Dogs and Donuts: Monday, Sept. 9, 9 – 11 a.m. at Tate Plaza
  • Suicide Prevention Night with Tra Battle: Monday, Sept. 9, 6 p.m. at Tate Grand Hall
  • BeWellUGA Fest: Tuesday, Sept. 10, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Tate Plaza
  • Body Talks Kickoff: Wednesday, Sept. 11, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Peyton Anderson Forum (Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication room 238)
  • Basketball and Pickleball Tournament: Wednesday, Sept. 11, 7 p.m. at Ramsey Student Center
  • Local Mental Health Provider Fair: Thursday, Sept. 12, 10 a.m. at Tate Plaza
  • Ramsey Palooza: Thursday, Sept. 12, 8 – 11 p.m. at Ramsey Student Center
  • Krav Maga Self-Defense Training: Friday, Sept.13, 3 – 5 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. at Ramsey Student Center; Saturday, Sept. 14, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 – 3 p.m. at Ramsey Student Centee
