The University Health Center (UHC) services are open and ready to assist you with your needs by appointment only. Please call 706-542-1162 to schedule an appointment. We are open Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm (6pm for Pharmacy).
The UHC is a state-of-the-art outpatient facility designed to meet the health care needs of UGA students. UHC is fully accredited by the Joint Commission. The standard of health care delivery has earned the center its reputation as one of the top college health care facilities nationwide. Throughout the year check back as we will offer other health-related services to keep our faculty / staff well.
Appointments are necessary for clinical services and can be made by phone. Call 706-542-1162.
If necessary, cancel or reschedule your appointment by 5:00pm on the business day before the scheduled appointment to prevent a $30 charge.

Although primary medical care is exclusively for students, there are many services that are available to current and retired faculty / staff, spouses, dependents and even the general public.
The Dental Clinic is a full service dental practice with two full time dentists and two hygienists who provide preventative, restorative, cosmetic and emergency dental care:
- Routine dental cleaning and x-rays
- Fillings, crowns, root canals, and extractions as appropriate (wisdom teeth)
- Teeth whitening – custom-fitted trays and supply for at-home treatment
- Sealants to protect teeth
- Retainer replacement
- Bite splints – headaches, clenching/grinding, jaw pain etc.
- Mouth guards to protect teeth while you play sports
- Repairs of chipped or broken teeth
Services are available to faculty, staff, visiting professors, postdocs, their spouses/domestic partners, and dependents (age 12 and up). Retired faculty/staff who have previously been treated while employed at UGA are eligible for care for 6 months after retirement. Patients are seen by appointment.

The Vision Clinic staffs two optometrists and offers eye exams, contact lens fittings, and carries a wide selection of eye glass frames. The designer lines cater to the latest fashion trends, and lower priced frames are available for the budget conscious. A variety of sunglasses, both prescription and non-prescription, are in stock. Prescriptions from other providers are accepted in the optical shop. EyeMed benefits may be used at the University Health Center Vision Clinic. Each person covered on your University of Georgia Plan is eligible for the following:
- Eye Exam ($10 copay)
- Frames ($150 benefit)
- Lenses: Contact lenses ($150 benefit) or Eyeglass lenses (co-pay based)
- Contact lens fitting (discounted)
Services are offered to faculty, staff, retired faculty/staff, spouses, domestic partners and dependents ages 5-26 years. Generous discounts are offered to employees. Eye exams are offered by appointments. Hours: Mon – Fri, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Remember, you can use Flexible Spending Accounts to pay for exams, glasses (including prescription sunglasses and contact lenses). The Travel Clinic offers a comprehensive, country–specific consultation to prepare the traveler for all types of trips. The clinic provides vaccinations (including common vaccines against common diseases such as MMR, HPV, meningitis, tetanus, hepatitis B and influenza), preventive medicine, and personalized health advice.
In addition to faculty/staff, this is the only service at UHC that is open to the general public, ages 12 and older. Patients are seen by appointment.

Massage Therapy: Therapeutic massage, a service of the Physical Therapy Department, is offered in a spa-like setting. No referral is necessary. A variety of massage options are available, including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, prenatal and pregnancy massage, and Reiki healing therapy. Medical massage is eligible for HSA and FSA reimbursement.
Service is offered to current and retired faculty/staff, post docs, and their spouses/domestic partners. Massages are scheduled for 30 or 60 minutes. Gift certificates and massage packages are available for purchase. Hours: Mon – Fri, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Please note that dependents are not eligible for massage services.

The Pharmacy offers commonly prescribed generic medications at competitive prices. They carry a varied selection of non-prescription products that are offered at low cost. Prescriptions can be filled online, by phone or in person. Prescriptions can be transferred from another pharmacy. Pharmacists are readily available to answer any questions you may have.
Faculty/staff, retired faculty/staff, and dependents can access the full-service UHC Pharmacy. Similar to any private pharmacy, prescriptions written by providers outside the health center are accepted, and most insurance plans are honored. Hours: M-F 8:00am-6:00pm.
